Every dog has a “stress bucket.” It can be big, or small and it represents how well they can handle different life experiences — both good and bad. Excitement, frustration, noise, and novelty all add to it, and it explains how a dog’s emotions affect the decision

What started out as a solution to help Marley through a few early struggles, playing games turned out to be one of the most rewarding and emotionally gratifying experiences I‘ve ever had with a dog.

My Story
Hi, I’m Debbie — and I love helping dogs and their people feel more connected 💛
I’ve spent my life caring for others — first as a cosmetologist for 25 years, then as a registered nurse for 20. But nothing has touched my heart quite like the journey I began with my dog Marley, and now continue with my puppy JJ.
In 2020 I became a professional dog trainer, and I use simple, joyful games to help dogs feel safe, confident, and capable in the world around them.
I’m also the author of Lessons from Marley - What my Dog Taught Me about Love, Trust Trust, and Training, a loving memoir on the special dog who changed everything and shaped my approach to training, connection, and joy.
More than anything, I believe that love, trust, and play create the kind of relationship where both dogs and humans can truly thrive. 🧡
